Each year, PrivateFly runs a “Most Scenic Airport Landings Poll” to discover the most beautiful airport approach of the year. Last year’s top airports included beach runways, mountain-top airports and airports approaches across stunning city skylines.

This year, we asked a panel of expert judges from across the travel industry to nominate their favourite airport approaches for the airport poll. Meet this year's judges and see their picks:

Ross Atkinson

Accomplished business leader with 24 years experience, 17 of which developing new models in software, services and delivery in the travel industry. Charles Audier

Charles Audier is a young lifestyle journalist at GQ France and a true aviation geek. Although he is now often confined to the passenger seat when he is travelling, he used to fly the Robin Aircraft DR 400 and learnt the barrel roll on an Albatros L39. 

Since he achieved a world tour in 2012, Charles is constantly looking for the most interesting remote places in the globe to collect the stories and testimonies of locals.

Carol Cork

Doug Gollan

Doug Gollan is founder and Editor-in-Chief of DG Amazing Experiences, an e-newsletter that reaches over 14,000 private jet owners worldwide. He is considered an expert on UHNW luxury marketing and previously launched Elite Traveler building it to over $15 million in sales before selling his shares. He is co-author of "The Sky's the Limit: Marketing to the New Jet Set" and is working on his next book "Sales Superstars: Secrets of Selling to the Super Rich." 

His blog at covers sales and marketing issues related to catering to the wealthy. He is a contributor to Previously, Doug was Group Publisher of Travel Agent Magazine Group, and he is a member of the Luxury Marketing Council.

Lisa Grainger

Lisa Grainger is a freelance journalist and editor for publications from The Times (of which she is deputy editor of Luxx), Condé Nast Traveller and various specialist glossies, from Travel & Leisure to Robb Report (of which she is contributing travel editor). She has travelled around the world interviewing high-fliers from the supermodel Gisele to African dictators, sailed the Komodo islands by phinisi, been one of the first women to do the Cresta Run, and has explored vast tracts of Africa (the Sahara by camel, the white waters of the Zambezi Valley by canoe, and the Mozambique coast by dhow).

What she loves most in journalism is being thrown in the deep end: investigating subjects she knows nothing about. One week, she says, she might be investigating the potency of electro-magnetic therapy in Russia, and the next looking into the illegal baiting of leopard for big white hunters. Her first book, a compilation of African myths and legends entitled Stories Gogo Told Me, was published by Penguin, with all proceeds going to CAMFED, for the education of African girls.

Chris Kjelgaard

A Scot who now lives in New York, Christian 'Chris' Kjelgaard has been an aviation journalist since 1980, where he has served as Editor of 9 aviation magazines, book titles and websites. Today, Chris is most frequently occupied as a Contributing Editor for Runway Girl Network, but also regularly writes for the Aviation Week Network; Aviation International News and its news website; Airports International magazine; AIR International magazine; and Airliner World magazine.

Chris also works on major reports, policy briefs and best-practices member manuals by the Airports Council International's World Headquarters (ACI World) organisation in Montréal. As an occasional aviation consultant, Chris has also written major reports and investor memoranda for clients in the aircraft finance and leasing business, and white papers for other aviation-industry clients.

After studying photography and pilot training, Maxime Pagnoux decided to complete a tour of France by plane.
