LYON-BRON AIRPORT HISTORY
The airport was established in May 1910 during the week of Lyon Aviation which attracted many visitors and led to the opening of the École Lyonnaise d'Aviation civile, Lyon’s first flight training centre.
During the First World War, the airport was used by the French army to test its new aircrafts.
In 2012, Lyon Bron became the first French airport to join the NBAA, the American National Business Aviation Association and is now known as a major European business airport on the American market.
New infrastructures and equipments should be added in 2014 and 2015 in order to handle and provide maintenance services for larger aircrafts.
In 2012, 54 718 aircraft movements (business and tourism) have been recorded to and from Lyon-Bron airport.
